LINDSAY LOHAN SAYS RETURNING TO DISNEY STUDIO LOT FOR ‘FREAKY FRIDAY 2' IS LIKE BEING ‘A LITTLE KID AGAIN' AS IT'S WHERE SHE FILMED ‘PARENT TRAP,' ‘HERBIE' AND MORE

Lindsay Lohan recently told ABC's "Nightline" that returning to the Disney lot to film "Freaky Friday 2" has her feeling like a little kid again as it's the place where she filmed not only the original "Freaky Friday" but also some of her biggest hits like her breakthrough role in 1998's "The Parent Trap." Lohan stayed in the Disney family in the years that followed with films such as "Life-Size" (2000), "Get a Clue" (2002) and more.

"I think really for me was when I went onto the Disney lot," Lohan said. "And being back on the Disney lot because that's not just ‘Freaky Friday' for me. That's ‘The Parent Trap,' that's ‘Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen,' that's ‘Herbie.' It's so many moments for me. So when I got there, I kind of felt like this essence of a little kid again."

"I'm so grateful for every moment of it. Every second," she added. "I'm going to, like, get emotional. It's a great experience."

Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis are reprising their roles of Anna and Tess Coleman in "Freaky Friday 2," the long-awaited sequel to their 2003 body-swapping comedy. The original film grossed $160 million in theaters worldwide.

"Jamie [Lee Curtis] and I have stayed in touch over the years," Logan said. "You know how they say when you have a best friend or someone you're really close with? You can not see them for years and years, but when you see them again, it's like you never separated."

Joining Lohan and Curtis in the sequel are returning cast members Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao. New cast members include Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Sophia Hammons.

While Disney has not yet announced a release date for "Freaky Friday 2," the studio has confirmed a theatrical release will take place in 2025.
