TONY GOLDWYN'S 2 CHILDREN: ALL ABOUT HIS DAUGHTERS ANNA AND TESS

Tony Goldwyn shares two daughters with his wife Jane Musky

Tony Goldwyn is an acting powerhouse but he’s also a proud dad to two children: daughters Anna and Tess.

Best known for his roles in Scandal and Law & Order, his big break came in the film Ghost, and landing that role was a family affair. In an interview with Today in 2019, Tony shared that his wife, Jane Musky, was the production designer on the film and encouraged him to go after an acting role in the movie.

“That’s how I got the part, I was a semi-employed actor, struggling, and Jane was this big fancy production designer,” he said, going on to explain that his wife had nudged him to go for the role, leading Tony, in turn, to pursue his agent about the part and land an audition. With landing a major role came another huge life change — the couple decided they were ready to start a family.

"That's how Anna, our oldest daughter (came about). We finally were like, 'Ok, I guess we can have kids now cause I have a job. It looks like I'll get another one,' " he said in the Today interview.

Tony and Jane's daughter Anna was born in 1990, followed by the couple's younger daughter, Tess, who arrived in 1995. It is no secret that Tony is a dedicated father. On International Daughters Day in 2019, he posted a screenshot of his phone's wallpaper, a photo of his two daughters, with the caption, "Screensaver forever. #internationaldaughterday."

Here is everything to know about Tony Goldwyn's two children, Anna and Tess.

Anna Musky-Goldwyn, 34

Tony and Jane welcomed their first child, Anna Musky-Goldwyn, on May 8, 1990.

She grew up in California and attended college at UCLA where she was a member of the school's rowing team. She is passionate about women's sports, and posts often on Instagram about surfing, running and biking.

When she's not being active, Anna works in the entertainment industry like her parents. Tony explained to PEOPLE in 2024 that the family feel "lucky" to all work in the entertainment business.

"Because we know how lucky we are to have something, and a lot of people who do jobs that they're not passionate about may make a good living, but they kind of go, 'Ah, I hate my job,' " he said.

Tony also revealed that Anna wanting to work in television and film came about during an on-set visit with her father during a taping of Law & Order.

"She stood right by me. I was shocked, because some kids get bored on set," he said. "And that night I took her to dinner after we wrapped and she said, 'Dad, this is what I want to do with the rest of my life.' And she did, though she decided it was writing, not so much directing yet."

Outside of the entertainment industry, Anna is passionate about politics. She co-founded a podcast, Political Playlist, which was nominated for a Webby Award. The podcast discusses the 18% of Congress members who are under 45 years old, among other topics.

When she's not working on her podcast or acting, Anna has been recently preparing for her wedding. She posted about her engagement to Billy Durden, a film editor, on Instagram. "Sweaty from tennis, under the bluffs in my favorite place, just us and your mom’s ring (bless her dainty fingers),” she wrote in the caption. “It was perfect. Because you know me perfectly. You’re not just my better half, but every piece of me."

Tony previously said he will be a "mess" at Anna’s wedding. He's concerned he won't be able to make it through his emotions on the big day.

"That's what I'm most nervous about, is being able to get through it. Because I just get very emotional regarding my children," he told PEOPLE in May 2024. "From the time my kids were young, they're like, 'Dad, you're just not going to make it through your wedding speeches. You know that.' "

While neither Tony or his daughter is yet to share any further details of her nuptials on social media, on June 12, Anna posted a carousel of images showing what appeared to be her Bachelorette weekend. The snaps included shots of Anna and friends posing and dining together, at what appeared to be a museum and one of the bride-to-be in a wedding veil while sitting outside with some of the group.

"Marriage is cool my but have you ever done a spa + art weekend with your best friends?" she wrote in the caption of the post, adding a bride emoji.

Tess Goldwyn, 29

Tony and Jane welcomed their daughter Tess Goldwyn on March 6, 1995.

She is an actress based in New York, per her website. Tess holds a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University and a master's in acting from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Tess has landed roles on Murphy Brown, Better Nate Than Ever and New Amsterdam as well as collaborating with her father on screen.

The father-daughter duo worked together on Law & Order, where she portrayed the character of District Attorney Baxter's daughter during the season 23 finale. She also acted in her father’s directorial debut, Ezra, a 2024 feature film that stars Robert DeNiro, Bobby Cannavale and Rose Byrne.

In a video for Actors Training Center that was posted on the group's Facebook in 2020, Tess and Tony shared how much they love working together.

“So I was thinking that during these really weird pandemic times that we’re living in, one of the things that sustains me always, and has really sustained me and Tess, is the ability to collaborate with each other, which we honestly have been doing,” he said.

Tess added, "We put together a group of a couple friends and have been reading through a play that we really like every week on Zoom and have truly just been switching up parts and pairs and talking about the scenes of the play... which has been really helpful."

According to her website, Tess is set to perform in the play "Our Class" with the Classic Stage Company from at the Lynn F. Angelson Theater in New York City from September 12 - November 3, 2024 followed by "The Merchant of Venice" with the same company later in the year. She previously performed in "Our Class" earlier in 2024 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
